Eagles sweep Kinston, clinch 1st place in area

The Pleasant Home Eagles swept the Kinston Bulldogs Friday night for homecoming.

PLEASANT HOME 57, KINSTON 13

 

The Lady Eagles jumped on the Lady Bulldogs early and never looked back as they defeated Kinston 57-13 for homecoming.

At halftime, the Lady Eagles held a 43-1 advantage.

River Baldwin had another big night for the Lady Eagles, as she finished with 31 points in the victory.

Cassidy Godwin finished the night with 13 points.

 

BOYS

PLEASANT HOME 65, KINSTON 52

 

Pleasant Home earned the right to host the area tournament after knocking off Kinston 65-52 Friday night for homecoming.

The Eagles came out firing on all cylinders and took a 16-5 lead in the second period.

Robert Scott knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the second period to help give the Eagles a 35-24 lead at halftime.

In the third period, Scott connected again from downtown, and Walt Weaver tacked on 5 points to give Pleasant Home a 47-33 lead heading into the final period.

Scott picked up five more points in the final period, and Weaver had 8 points, including going 6-for-7 from the free-throw line to give the Eagles the win.

Scott led Pleasant Home with 21 points and Weaver finished the night with 18.
