Laura Ryland Harvey

Laura Ryland Harvey, 72, of Anniston, Ala., formerly of Andalusia, passed away Sat., Jan. 16, 2016.

Mrs. Harvey was born Sept. 11, 1943, to Alton H. and Dena B. Ryland of Andalusia. She attended Andalusia High School and was in the graduating class of 1961. Following high school, she attended nursing school at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Montgomery and upon completion of her studies, she began a rewarding and fulfilling career. She lived many years in Stamford, Conn., and after retiring from the nursing profession, she finally moved back to the South, making her home in Anniston.

No public service is scheduled. A private family service will be held in Anniston at a later date.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James D. and Tracy Harvey of Anniston; a granddaughter, Kiera of Boston, Mass.; one sister, Betty Ryland Brewer of Andalusia; two nephews, Johnny Brewer of Andalusia and Thomas Brewer of Montgomery; and niece, Jeremie Brewer Shaffer and her husband, Frank. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews, Lorren and Riley Shaffer and Grant, Jackson and Ashlyn Brewer.
