A top-four “American Idol” contestant is set to hit the stage in Andalusia in April.

LBWCC officials announced Monday that Jessica Meuse of season 13 would do a one-night performance on April 12, at the Dixon Center for Performing Arts at LBWCC.

It is a LBWCC Foundation fundraiser.

“Jessica landed in the top four of American Idol’s season 13, and we are delighted to bring her talent to Andalusia for this performance,” said Tari McClung, LBWCC Foundation president. “Tickets go on sale March 1. With limited seating in the theater, be sure to get your tickets early.”

Meuse, who is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Slapout, said she is excited about her performance in Andalusia.

“I absolutely cannot wait to be a part of such a fun and helpful event in my home state,” she said.

Meuse was the first American Idol contestant to perform an original song, “Blue-Eye Lie,” during the finals, receiving rave reviews for the performance.

She participated with the “Idols LIVE Tour” in summer 2014, visiting 40 different cities in the U.S. and Canada.

Meuse has been performing publicly since 10. She is classically trained on violin and self-taught on guitar and piano.

She won the statewide artist showcase, “Stars on Alabama,” at 20.

In 2013, Meuse took first place in the eight-week competition at Workplay Theater in Birmingham.

Since then, she has performed at venues across the southeast opening for national and local acts.

She was also a contestant on NBC’s The Voice in 2012, and made it to the blind auditions.

In summer 2013, she won a spot to perform a set at the Vans Warped Tour in Atlanta.

She now has two singles released, “Done,” recorded and mixed in Los Angeles and newly released “Rio Grande.”

Tickets are $20 general admission, $15 for students, and $50 VIP tickets to include a pre-performance reception at Springdale with the artist and reserved theater seating.

They are available from any LBWCC Foundation board member, at all locations of LBWCC, Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce, Andalusia Manor, CCB Community Bank in Andalusia and Opp and Southern Independent Bank in Andalusia and Opp.
