The Andalusia Bulldogs may have the week off from hitting the gridiron Friday night, but a group of mothers and other fans were busy Thursday night preparing for next week’s rivalry game.

Andalusia will host Straughn next Friday night, and nothing says school spirit like loud, roaring fans chanting and jumping in the stands.

Locals around here know the Tigers will come to the game with their jugs, their hallmark noisemaker.

Not to be outdone by the rival team, a night of bonding and school spirit was born.

The idea came when two fans put their heads together.

“Laurie Dean and I came up with the ideas to have a sign and noisemaker craft night for our Andalusia Bulldogs,” said Brandy Hudson. “I’m not a mom, but some of us and others are just fans who want to help out.”

Hudson said she anticipated there would be about 50 to show up and decorate all kinds of posters and noisemakers to show their Bulldog spirit.

Andalusia Police Chief Paul Hudson, Brandy’s husband, allowed the group to utilize the space outside at the Wilbur Williams Law Enforcement Training Facility to complete the project.
