The Andalusia Bulldogs’ junior varsity baseball team kept it close for most of the game, but the Northview Cougars were able come away with a 15-3 victory on Thursday night in Andalusia.

Andalusia starting pitcher Jacob Cravey opened the game with three quick outs, but the Cougars would add two runs in the top of the second inning to take an early lead.

The Bulldogs got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning when John Harper Dubose drove in Jake Barefoot with a double.

Cravey followed with a double of his own that drove in the Dubose for the Bulldogs’ second run of the game.

“Well, that was the first game of the season,” Andalusia junior varsity head coach Jackson said. “We have a very young team. I thought Jacob Cravey came out and threw the ball well for the first few innings. There is a still a lot of work for us to do. One thing we have to work on is hitting with runners in scoring position.”
