Plans are under way for this year’s Mizell Memorial Hospital Foundation’s 13th Annual Gala.
This year’s event is set for Aug. 10, at 6:30 p.m., at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Center.
“The hospital’s own chef, Mike Mullen, will again prepare a delicious meal for everyone’s enjoyment,” said Foundation Chairperson Melinda Hall. “Dinner will be followed with entertainment provided by Three on a String.”
Hall said this gala will be Three on a String’s second appearance.
“Three on a String celebrated 45 years in the entertainment business in 2016,” she said. “They promise a good, clean, entertaining and completely hilarious program with the perfect balance of musical entertainment and humor.”
The foundation is looking for sponsors for the event.
“You are probably aware that these are difficult times for rural hospitals, and Mizell Memorial is no exception,” she said. “However, thanks to the help of our city, community and supporters, we not only continue to offer quality health care, but have been able to update equipment and services to stay on the cutting edge of today’s technological advances.”
Hall said that Mizell is an excellent facility, with a world-class physical therapy building, and continues to provide compassionate health care for all seeking treatment.
“It is our intent to remain a viable and important part of our community by serving the needs of Opp and the surrounding area with quality health care and commitment to improving customer service and patient satisfaction,” she said.
The foundation has several levels of sponsorships for the event:
• Gold, which is a $1,000 sponsorship, and includes four gala tickets, gold leaf engraving and name listed on banner and in program;
• Silver, which is a $500 sponsorship, and includes two gala tickets, copper leaf engraving and name listed on banner and in program; and,
• Friends of the Foundation, which is a $250 sponsorship, and includes two gala tickets and name in program.
Hall said for those who wish to be sponsors and want their name listed on the banner, their donation must be received by July 7.
The donation is tax-deductible.
Tickets are also on sale for the event. Tickets are $50 each and 80 percent is tax deductible.
