Andalusia Sears Hometown Store will hold its grand opening with special discounts and giveaways today.

Unlike most retail concepts, Sears Hometown Stores offers the selection and services associated with larger retail chain stores, but are also owned by a member of the local community.

Andalusia’s Sears Hometown Store is owned by Andalusia’s own Tony Johnson, who will also serve as manager for the store.

Johnson told the Star-News in February that the store would be an America’s Appliance Expert Store, which would give the store priority in receiving the newest technology or appliances that Sears offers.

Sears Hometown Store offers brand name appliances like Kenmore, Maytag, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Bosch, Frigidaire and GE, along with an assortment of lawn and garden equipment, tools, fitness equipment, electronics, mattresses and more.

On both Friday and Saturday Sears Hometown Store will also offer an additional 10 percent discount on most items in the store. There will also be special giveaways during the day, including a $10 gift card for the first 20 customers on Saturday.

Andalusia’s Sears Hometown Store can be reached at 334-222-0345 and is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
