Former AHS teacher, coach named college president

A former Andalusia High School teacher and coach was named president of Enterprise State Community College on Wednesday.

Rodgers was nominated and approved for the position during the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees meeting in Montgomery.

A native of New Brockton, Rodgers began his education as a history teacher at coach at Zion Chapel. He spent four years teaching in coaching in the Andalusia system before moving to a similar role at Enterprise High School in 2001. He later was named assistant principal at the school, and currently serves as its principal.

He will begin his new job in September.
