School flu clinics delayed

Published Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Although Alabama’s school-based H1N1 “swine” flu vaccination clinics have been postponed until late November, many parents have taken a proactive approach and are already getting their children vaccinated by local pediatricians.

Dr. Bhagwan Bang of Opp’s South Alabama Pediatrics said his office administers about 10 nasal mist H1N1 flu vaccines a day.

“The nasal mist is a live vaccine, so it can’t be given to people who have asthma or some other situations,” he said. “Those who have already had the confirmed swine flu won’t need to get a vaccine, but a lot of people who had ‘flu-like symptoms’ should still get the vaccine — there are many diseases that have ‘flu-like symptoms’ but aren’t really the flu.”

Earlier this year, state health department officials detailed a plan where Alabama school children would receive the vaccination at their respective schools. Parents would be given the opportunity to have their child opt out of the vaccinations, which were originally scheduled for early November in hopes of beating the Thanksgiving holiday — when social gatherings could escalate the spread of the virus.

However, state health department spokesman Dr. Jim McVay said this week that delays in producing the vaccine have forced the state to push back the date for the school-based clinics.

Andalusia Superintendent Dr. Beverly McAnulty said she was not surprised by the state’s decision to delay the clinics.

“The national news has been talking about delays, so I felt like our state might see a delay in receiving the vaccine as well,” she said. “I have heard there could be a second wave of flu, so I don’t think late November will be too late, when the vaccine is available.”

McAnulty also said that the city schools’ swine flu-related absences have tapered off.

Opp Superintendent Michael Smithart said many students in the schools have already contracted swine flu, but the majority have not and could benefit from the vaccination.

“One effect the delay has had is that I believe more parents are having second thoughts about vaccinating their child,” he said. “There is just so much conjecture about swine flu and the vaccination that parents are really unsure about what to do.”

McVay said production is going slower than expected, but the state still expects its promised 2.8 million doses of vaccine by the end of January. He added the state’s school vaccination clinics will be for children younger than 10, only.

State Health Officer Don Williamson said clinics for older children and staff will not be held until December and January.

Bang said his suggestion would be for parents to get their children vaccinated as soon as possible.

“It takes a while for the vaccine to go into effect,” he said. “If you wait until November, it’s possible that you might catch the flu before you get the vaccine. I’d just suggest that parents get their kids the vaccine as soon as possible.”

Bang said he has also seen a large number of patients refuse the vaccine, even if they qualify.

“Twenty-five percent or so are opting not to take it,” he said. “There’s always the fear of a new vaccine, that we don’t know the side effects and that sort of thing. But the fact is, this vaccine is prepared exactly the same way as the seasonal flu vaccine and it’s completely safe.”

QUOTE: "We dont know the side effects and that sort of thing, but the flu vaccine is 'completely' safe." ???????????? HELLOOOOOOOOO!!!

Any one interested in why to refuse the vaccine should read the comments on the article, "Doctors have nasal H1N1 flu serum" . There is a very good reason so many people are REFUSING this vaccine. If you do your research you'll find that there are alot of nurses and doctors refusing to vaccinate themselves and their families.

This quote from the above article pretty much says it all. :
“One effect the delay has had is that I believe more parents are having second thoughts about vaccinating their child,” he said. “There is just so much conjecture about swine flu and the vaccination that parents are really unsure about what to do.”
Why is it that even health care people tow the government line and do no outside research?? Going along to get along is what has gotten us to the point we are at now. The ignorant and uninformed will obtain a vaccination no matter what is said among different groups of people , church or in this forum. If they do they will be acting out of fear.
Thomas Jefferson said the following "No one can be free and ignorant at the same time". I think we live in Hooterville especially after reading about the pastor and all that he has done.

Anything the government "recommends" or demands should be suspect. Each year approximately 35,000 deaths occur from regular seasonal flu. So far this season, only 800 +/- deaths have occurred due to swine flu. Obama now declares this a "national emergency?" P-l-e-a-s-e!!!

GOOD point, William.

AstraZeneca,a pharmaceutical co., are to produce 40 million doses of the nasal spray vaccine ordered by the U.S. government by early next year---the bulk of the sales from the total contract worth $453million---Chicago Tribune.

Millions and millions and millions of $$$$$ have got to have something to do with pushing this poison!!!!!

William: Thank you; and those 800+ were not confirmed swine victims. Those who took the jab for the seasonal 3 in 1, are vulnerable for complications.

We are so thankful that we have more time to alert parents about the dangerous side effects, as well as the RFID chips. I am disappointed that the Star News has not had a column written about the Vaccines and what exactly is in them.

There is a huge grassroots movement that is sweeping Europe and Canada against the Swine flu shot at this time. There are petitions going to the United Nations as well as a lawsuit against the vaccine makers. Why do we not read about this?

Dr. Bang and Baldwin, I challenge you respectfully, to do your independent research as to the side effects of the adjuvants - and NO, the seasonal 3 in 1 shot is NOT SAFE. It also has Squalene, Aluminum, Tween 80, just as does the Swine vaccine.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK, PLEASE DOCTORS.

Surely you can easily find out that Squalene is directly connected to Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) a potentially deadly and nerve crippling of the central nervous system by attacking the lining of the nerves, causing paralysis and inability to breathe, and can be fatal, just as in the 1976 version that had to be stopped. (Prof. Elizabeth Miller, head of the UK's Immunization Dept.)

All neurologists have been warned to check for GBS in any of their patients that have taken the Swine Flu Vaccine.

I hope someone brings this to these doctors attention.

Just a few for the good doctors to research for themselves. We know the Big Pharma's aren't going to Dr.s the truth, nor the U.N. or CDC. It is up to us.

Floknos: you are totally out of control! You have broken the standards you agreed upon when you registered to blog on this newspaper. Be gone!

Credibility , OUT THE DOOR!!!
Anyone that uses that kind of language is nobody that I would ever consider having a conversation with.

I am far from being the most intelligent person in Andalusia or for that matter on this forum. That being said...I am intelligent enough to realize that just because I hear a jackass braying I dont have to confront it and try to bray as loud or louder. I will leave you all to decipher that statement.

How can anyone quote our Lord's words, the bible scripture, and use language like that too?
That is very, very offensive!

I am not on the other thread. Why did I have see your anger. You can contact that person thru email. The rest of us are just trying to converse without all that rudeness.

If someone doesn't like for me or anyone else to help people research something as important as this, by giving the sites for them to look up and do their homework, I suggest you continue on your course, and allow us to continue on ours.

This twerp that uses juvenile obcenities because I don't agree with him is OUT OF CONTROL!

If any of us: Justwingit, Darryl or Anne had not taken time to write a word about what we knew - because we did do our homework on this subject, it is quite possible no one would have the sites to check out for themselves.
Are you denying people this right? And why so crushed about it?

I'm presuming Biscuit is referring to my posts as well. If not, I apologize. BTW, I enjoy your humor.

We shall continue giving this information to our good neighbors.

floknos, Do you have multi-peronality disorder? Because anyone who can quote the bible like you can, and then go off and, just because they are mad, use that language can't be the same person, or maybe you just don't uphold and act on what you quote.

I never said anyone was perfect, and I don't expect anyone to be. BUT when you go off on a PUBLIC site and use strong, very unnecessary, immature language expect to be attacked. ***fair warning*** I, along with probally everyone else blogging, ask you to please watch how you try to get your point across and don't impulse blog.

The best policy when it comes to any medicine is to wait until it has gone through a religious battery of testing. It has not. I, as a future registered nurse, do not reccomend this vaccination until it has been in use for a year, as most people do not die from swine flu directly, but pneumonia. As such, this disease may inconvenience some of you, may even kill about the same as the normal flu does every year, but this vaccine may cause permanent brain damage or auto-immune disorder. Vaccines also do not guarantee immunity.

Now, can we get back on subject here?

I have done alot of research on all vaccinations, and I'm not the only one. There are ALOT of people that are against them. I never got the flu shot and will not get the h1n1 shot either. I take good care of my body and do not want to put all those poisons in it.
I would think no one would put all those poisons in their body either.

I'm very glad to see that there are alot of people reading this article and it's comments, (well not all the comments).

Posted by justwingit (anonymous) on October 29, 2009 at 6:29 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Dr.Bang, If you are reading, I wish you would go on those sites that shamrock suggested and stop telling parent to get their kids this shot. As a doctor, it would seem to be against your oathe to do so.
I did and was amazed to read that information.
Thank you, AceLee. I hope more people will think twice and do their research before taking their children to get vaccinated.

WHERE IS BEAKER! LITTLE NUTS, WHERE ARE YOU? FLICKNOSE, I CAN'T FIND ANY OF YOUR BLOGS! YOU MUST HAVE EVAPORATED INTO THE ETHERS ALONG WITH YOUR POSTS! DANG IT. I HAD ONE MORE OBSERVATION TO SHARE WITH YOU. GOD IS GOOD!

Ignore him (blownose) and he/she will go away. Waste not your time rebutting with this person.

Now, thank the Good Lord, we can get back to important business.

Biscuit, please accept again my apologies. For a nano second, I had misgivings. But, after having 7 children, I tend to 'nip it in the bud', and this weed needed to be nipped.

Estrogen aka the Blind One, will come forth with his usual comments in time, but for now - let us be thankful.

Ace Lee! where have you been doll? Someone in the medical community that is willing to take a stand! Please, if you have any information to help us, consider this an invitation. You needn't be shy - flicknose has evaporated for the time being. So go for it! As Outlaw would say: I've Got Your Back!

And Justwingit, giving us information we didn't know and keep that love flowing.

CatholicGem - way to go young'n. You know what's right and what isn't. 3 cheers for SHS!

Darryl - you take care of those children. If you have to, homeschool them. It's great!

Biscuit - we so appreciate your insight and your sense of humor. Pass on what we've learned.
Church folks - our elderly, they need to know, who else will tell them?

I think I'll have a mighty Guinness tonight to celebrate. But whoa! I'm not naive enough to think that Estrogen isn't waiting in the wings with another protegee to harass the decent people in this County.

Love to you all in Jesus, our Savior!

MoreCowBell: Flicknose is gone. All his blogs are gone! In a click of the moderator's button (or whatever they click on).
Many, many thank you's dear moderator, for releaving us of this Mega Spoiler and the abuse of Scripture. Rules are there for a reason.
Morecowbell, are you going for the jab? And why?

Good health!! and good night!! I'll check for more info tomorrow.

Shamrock: Morecowbell, are you going for the jab? And why?

Not sure about your question?

Estrogen: Your budding flower turned out to be a noxious weed that the newspaper had to spray with the same poison he tried to put us out with.

I am not positive that Flicknose was not your alter ego, if not one of your protegees. You read the same Enlightened books, studied the same progressive ideology, raptured on Budhism, berated the Christians ad nauseum...this time, using the Scriptures in an obtuse, inciteful way.

What gave Beaker away was his stoning by the Christians at the old jail...

We'll be awaiting your next upstart. We'll nip him in the bud also, God willing.

Morecowbell: I was asking if you were going to take the swine flu vaccine knowing what was hidden within it. And if you were, why? And if you were not, why? Sorry for the confusion.
Since I had my Guinness and am getting ready to retire after a rather stressful day, I apologize for not making that clear.

Rejoice for the time being!

Shamrock, I do not plan to take the swine flu vaccination because of it's possible side effects. I'm going to take my chances.

Shamrock, DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS!!!

Posted by Shamrock (anonymous) on October 30, 2009 at 9:06 a.m. (Suggest removal)

justwingit: Yes ma'm! I promise.
Morecowbell: Don't just take a chance - there are very effective immune builders that have been mentioned on other threads, that will either prevent you getting it, or shorten the duration considerably without complications.

Here's the list:
Vitamin D3 - prevents flu and other infections - begin it ASAP to keep this in your bloodstream. 5,000 to 10,000 units daily. You can use the rule of 35 iu's per lb. of body weight if you seldom get daily sun. For children also.

Kyolic Garlic - ordorless. Again, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and good for the arteries. With regular use, increases T-cells - the immune fighters.

Colloidal Silver - kills all viruses.

Vit. C - take in large doses e.g. 2,000 mgs or more during flu season, and if you smoke you need lots more.

The homeopathic called OSCILLOCOCCINUM by Boiron. Drs. in France have been giving this to patients for years to prevent the flu or cold and shorten duration. Take this if exposed so not to come down with the cold or flu - or at first sign of flu. THIS IS GREAT FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES. You can buy this at Walmart or RiteAid.

Any of the above can be purchased wholesale from www.vitacost.com - you can order by phone also.

Please pass this information on.
