Letter prompts kindnesses

Dear Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the 92 caring and concerned citizens in the Andalusia area that contacted me regarding my Letter to the Editor published in the June 11 issue of the Andalusia Star- News. It was a touching testament of goodness, that so many people took time from their busy lives to let me know they care and are concerned.

Some of the people that contacted me I know, some I was only familiar with their name and others were complete strangers. I appreciate each and every person that contacted me. Their response speaks volumes for their intuitiveness and the pulse of the community.

This response is also an indicator of how well the Andalusia Star-News is read by people from all walks of life. Also, I appreciate the woman who wrote a response to the Andalusia Star-News regarding my letter. This is what America is all about, our right to voice opinions.

I also thank her for giving the name of the woman who has been working on the problem of littering. I will make every effort to make contact with her and offer any help possible.
