Grateful for support while son served

Dear Editor:

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to so many people, and there is no better way than through your paper.

We would like to begin by thanking you for the wonderful article about our son, Bo McKathan, who recently came home from his service in the Marine Corps. We are very proud of him, and of his service to our country. You portrayed Bo just as he is, and we are grateful.

We would also like to thank all those in our family and community, as well as the kids at Pleasant Home School and the congregation of Pleasant Home Church who wrote to Bo during his deployment, as well as keeping him in prayer. He stated that the best thing about being over there was whatever words he received from here.

We would also like to thank the American Legion and Mr. J.T. Raley for presenting us the "blue star" service banner to display at our home. The history attached to the banner made it very special to us.

A very special thank you goes to our employer, CDG Engineers, whose owners and employees went to such great lengths to host a reception luncheon for Bo. They have all been so supportive of us throughout our employment with CDG, and are truly a second family.

Thank you as well to Mayor Johnson, the City Council, Ms. Pam Steele and Ms. Deborah Spivey of the City of Andalusia, and to the Covington County Commission as represented by Mrs. Greg White, for the presentations made to Bo at the luncheon.

These words do not truly represent how much we appreciate the care that all have shown, but we are truly grateful to you all.

Sincerely,

Keith and Debbie McKathan
