Mary F. Noel
Mary F. Noel, 94 of Maquoketa and formerly of Bettendorf died Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at Briarwood Care Center, Maquoketa following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Temple Hill Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Temple Hill. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Haylock-O'Hara and Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa where a vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. There will also be visitation on Monday at the Church one hour prior to services
Mary F. Freeland was born on August 6, 1907 in Maple Park, Illinois to Matthew M. and Karina Martha (Male) Freeland. She married James J. Noel on Sept. 14, 1935 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, rock collecting and photography.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann (Mrs. Max) Fernandez, Anchorage, Alaska; two sons, John (and Evelyn) Noel, Maquoketa and Michael (and Sandra) Noel, Andalusia; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son Jimmy and all of her brother and sisters.
Vernon Elvon Ballard
Vernon Elvon Ballard, 79, of Andalusia died Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at his residence.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, July 26, at 10:30 a.m. with Bro. Loron M. Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery with Navy Honors with Foreman Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include a son, Elvon Ballard of Andalusia; three daughters, Annelois Green of Hamilton, La., Darlene Seneses of Elberta and Wynona Pate of Andalusia; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Lorena Sethman of Andalusia.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Foreman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Pate, Christopher Senese, Brandon Holland, Robert Rolling, Bruce Robertson Sr., Bruce Robertson Jr.
