Posse hosts team roping event

The dirt will fly this weekend with a Trailer and Saddle Roping Covington County Sheriff Posse Team Roping event scheduled for the Covington Center Arena.

The action will start at 5 p.m. on Friday with an open one-head rodeo run. An open four-head and an 11-point four-head event will also be held on Friday.

The ropes will be flying again on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. A nine-point four-head event is slated for Saturday morning. Also scheduled for Saturday is an eight-point four-head event and a seven-point four-head event.

The final day of action is Sunday with six-point, five-point and four-point roping battles. Each of the events will be three-head roping.

Points will be awarded to the first five finishers. No point will be given on rodeo runs or go-rounds.

All ropers who gross $10,000 will be awarded average-winners Regional Shoot-Out positions. All ropers who gross $20,000 will be awarded average-winners National Shoot-Out positions. All monies may be used toward Regional and National Shoot-Out.
