To promote a friendly and positive feeling at Andalusia High School, Principal Daniel Shakespeare held a "New Students' Luncheon" Friday.

The luncheon was to welcome the new students and to give them a friendly environment to come into because Shakespeare said he know the students had to leave their friends to come to a new place and he knows that it can be a scary thing for them.

"I just wanted to promote our student body as a family," Shakespeare said. "This gave them a chance to meet one another and get a overview of the school's history."

The students sang the school Alma Mater and Joseph Wingard, English teacher at Andalusia High School for 35 years and the school historian, spoke to the students about the school's history.

Subway sandwiches were provided by the school.
