W.E. Chesser

W.E. Chesser, 96, of Red Level died Tuesday, Sept.17, 2002 in a Georgiana hospital.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.W. Andrews officiating. Special music was provided by the Sacred Harp Singers.

Survivors include wife, Abilene Chesser of Red Level; daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Ned Wells of Opp; two sisters, Bess Maynard of Andalusia and Eva Sweatt of Red Level; two grandchildren, Dr. Kathy Payne of Andalusia and Elaine Scott; three great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Griel Chesser, Carroll Chesser, Bruce Chesse, Marc McIntyre, Billy Ray Turner and Bobby Chesesr.

Honorary pallbearers are Halcott Curry, DeeWee Nickels, Billy turner, Gene Stallings, Ray Castleberry, James Ingram.

Flowers will be accepted or contribution to charity of choice.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Louise Chesser.

Johnny Frank Howell

Johnny Frank Howell, 69, of Red Level died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002 in a Dothan hospital.

Mr. Howell was a retired State Trooper, a veteran of Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a mason and a member of River Falls Baptist Church.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Melvin Kilpatrick and Rev. Buford Brady officiating. Special music was provided by Chuck Lassiter, soloist, Gunter Quartet, and Mark Gunter, soloist accompanied by Gail Williams.

Survivors include wife, Shirley Tucker Howell, Red Level; one son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Delphia Howell, Gantt; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Howell and Larry McAlpin, Andalusia;three grandchildren, Jana Davis, John Davis, Michael McAlpin; two sisters, Kathlean Cobb, Luverne; Mary Wright, Pensacola.

Gregory Peasley

Gregory Peasley, 53, of Andalusia, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002 in Gautier, Miss.

Graveside services were held Monday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. William Goodson officiating.

Surviviors include the mother of his children, Eddie goodson; daughter, Tara Fetzer; brother, Jeffre y Peasley; four grandchildren, Brandon Brown, Chase Earl, Andrew Earl and Daniel Sunde.

Lesa T. Chance

Lesa T. Chance, formerly known as Lesa McBride, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 at her residence in Panama City.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 23, 2002 at Calvary Holiness Church with Pastor David Simms officiating. Special music was provided by the family.

Survivors include mother, Dorothy Yates McBride of Andalusia; son, Christopher Allen McBride of Andalusia; daughter, DeLesa Henderson of Andalusia; brother, Billy Joe McBride Sr., Andalusia; grandsons, Allen McBride, Andalusia and Trey Commee of Andalusia; granddaughter, Olivia Commee of Andalusia; nieces, Angel McBride, Heather McBride Powell; nephews, Billy Joe McBride Jr.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Paul McBride.

Pallbearers included Gary Daughtry, DeWayne Henderson, Justin Harrelson, Dallas Henderson, Billy Joe McBride Jr. and Jason Walden.

Donnirene Lee Foshee Merrill

Donnirene Lee Foshee Merrill, 81, of Andalusia, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002 in a local nursing home.

Graveside funeral services were held 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Clay Kelley officiating.

Survivors include husband, Warren Merrill of Andalusia; daughter, Sandra morrow, Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Lillian Robbins, Tuscumbia; step-son, Mike Merrill; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, David and Gwen Morrow of Red Level; granddaughter, Donna Morrow of Atlanta, Ga.; great-granddaughter, Tiffany Morrow of Andalusia; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Wade Foshee.

Pallbearers included David Morrow, Joe Morrow, Hugh Barrow, Robert Foshee Jr., Mike Merrill, and Roy Windham.

Don (Rudy) Reeves

Don Reeves, 47, of Andalusia, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002 unexpectedly at his mother's residence.

Funeral services were held 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21 at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with Rec. Robert Canant and Rev. Gary Holloway officiating.

Survivors include mother, Opal Reeves of Red Level; son Justin Reeves of Raiford, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Chris Wise, Lawtey, Fla.; daughter, Jennifer Reeves, Lawtey, Fla.; sisters, Linda Crew, S.C.; Faye Kilcrease of Brantley; Barbara Taylor of Rockwood, Michigan, Janice Grissett, River Falls; three grandchildren, Morgan Wise, Christopher Wise and Bailey Wise; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Reeves; a sister, Vickie Green; and a niece, Jamie Taylor.

Pallbearers included Darrell Baker, Danny Rodgers, Joey Caldwell, Charles Hartin, Byron Hartin and Dale Hartin.

Ida Katherine (Worrell) Warr Puckett

Ida Katherine (Worrell) Warr Puckett,82, of Chipley, Fla. died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002 in a Chipley hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Thurston but had lived in Panama City for many years until recently moving to Washington County. She was of the Assembly of God Faith.

Graveside funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at the Brantley Graveyard with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

She is survived by two sons, Arnett Billy War and Jimmy G. Warr Sr.; three sisters, Quida Louise Evans, Virginia Inez Raborne and Eubina Marie Smoke; daughters-in-law, Patricia Ann Carter of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Waver Taylor of Crestiview, Fla.

She is preceded in death by three brothers, John Enis Worrell, Luther Gordan Worrell and Cleveland Leo Worrell; two husband, Arnett Charles Warr and James L. Puckett Jr.; daughter-in-law, Betty Carolle Warr.

She had seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Blizzard

Dorothy Blizzard, 74, formerly of Andalusia, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2002 in Colquitt, Ga.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 19 at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Hunt officiating. Special music was provided by Helen Grissett and by the family.

Survivors include son, Gary Henderson of Tampa, Fla.; daughters, Rebecca Ray of Colquitt, Ga., Julie Knurek, Tampa, Lisa Coleman of Tampa; two sisters, Josephine McClain of Andalusia, Evelyn Crosby of Tampa, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Blizzard.

Maude Ellen Robinson

Maude Ellen Robinson, 93, a native of Mississippi and a long time resident of Mobile, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002 at a local health care facility. Mrs. Robinson was a member of the order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Government Street Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Dean Robinson, Sr and is survived by her children, Betty (Ray) Lee of Foley, Aubrey Dean (Marie) Robinson, Jr. of Marrietta, Ga., JoAnn R. Cole of Mobile, Sherrill Robinson of Taylorville, Ill., R. Robert (Ann) Robinson of Plantation, Fla. and Elaine "Lanie" Sheffler-Denomme of Mobile; sixteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002 at 10 a.m. fromt he chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Grave side services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 3:30 p.m. at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday at Foreman Funeral Home.
