Pleasant Home senior Britni Ballard signed a letter-of-intent on Wednesday to play college basketball for the Birmingham Southern College Lady Panthers.

Ballard has had a successful high school career going into her senior season with a total of 1,400 points in three seasons. She has started on the varsity since her freshman year under Head Coach Tony Wilson.

She has a long list of basketball accomplishments, including being one of 15 finalists who could earn a spot to play in the McDonald's All-Star Game later this season.

Ballard also represented the high schools from south Alabama at the annual North-South All-Star Weekend and was named the Most Valuable Player for the South squad.

Last season, Ballard also was named to The Andalusia Star-News All-County Team for the third consecutive season.

Her other accomplishments from last season include being named to the Red Level Christmas Tournament All-Tournament Team, New Brockton Thanksgiving Tournament All-Tournament Team, a Birmingham News Player of the Week, a member of the Dothan Eagle Super 12, All-State Honorable Mention and All-Area at the area tournament.

BSC Head Coach Janine Hoffman said she is excited about the addition of Ballard.

"Britni has a scorers mentality and that

is what we need in our program, along with her leadership abilities," Hoffman said. "She’s

been a leader sense her freshman year at Pleasant Home.

It’s hard to find

players that have the mind-set that Britni is gifted with concerning her

ability to lead.

She’s the kind of intense player that will make any program

better.

We’re looking forward to her being a part of our program next year.
