Eagles soar to homecoming win

Homecoming 2003 started with a loss on the basketball court as the Straughn B-team Tigers defeated the Eagles. In the varsity game, however, it was a completely different story as the Eagles earned a 76-54 victory.
The varsity Eagles started the game against the Straughn Tigers with a 22-8 run in the first quarter and held a 32-22 lead at the halftime intermission.
Caurie Lundy was crowned the 2003 Homecoming Queen at the half and then the Eagles soared out to a 61-39 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Pleasant Home went on to record a 76-54 win.
Author Coleman paced the Eagles with 30 points in the homecoming win. Troy Turman added 14 points. Chris "Tank" Huckabaa hit for 12 points in the victory.
Timothy Wilson ended the night with eight points for Pleasant Home. Daniel Clark had five points. Nathaniel Blount had three points. Brent Carter and David Sanders scored two points each.
Jeremy Hunt was the leading scorer for Straughn with 12 points. Garrett Windham added 10 points. Brandon Hendrix scored nine points in the loss. Clay Fowler ended the game with six points. Michael Hattaway had five points. Justin Bracewell and Al Freeney scored four points each. Andrew Hancock and Michael White scored two points each.
LADY EAGLES SOAR
The Pleasant Home Lady Eagles built a 25-15 halftime lead en route to a 50-29 win against the visiting Straughn Lady Tigers on Friday.
Britni Ballard was the leading scorer for Pleasant Home with 13 points. Heather Little added nine points in the win. Sophomore Maid Amy Jacobs had eight points. Meghon Bryant, who was also in the homecoming court as the Senior Maid, had seven points. Beth Cox scored six points. Leah Turman had four points. Coty Cross scored three points.
McKena Parker paced the Lady Tigers with 13 points. Ashley Turner scored five points. Andrea Cochran scored four points. Allie Perrin, Courtney McLelland and Jennifer Nall had two points each. Ashley Daniels had one point.

B-TEAM GAME
Straughn won the B-team game by a final score of 45-37 with Scotty Rabren and Jody Sexton leading the way.
Rabren ended the game with 15 points and Sexton scored 14. Jason Cotton and Zack Hammett had five points each. Jeff Bass and Josh Page had two points each.
Issac Edgar was the leading scorer for the B-team Eagles with 15 points. Chris Little had 12 points. Brad Sanders hit for four points. Bobby Huckabaa and Miles Nichols had one point each.
