After the first half of conference play, the LBW Community College baseball team sits atop the conference standings after a clean sweep of the visiting Enterprise State Junior College team on Wednesday.

The Saints used a big first inning to record a 4-1 win in the first game of the doubleheader.

Bryan "Smoke" Mosley started the rally with a base hit. He moved to second when Ryan Mitchell was hit by a pitch.

Chase Amis kept the rally alive when he attempted to get down a sacrifice bunt.

Amis' bunt was perfect and an error by the Enterprise catcher made it even better. The error allowed Smoke to score from second base on the play. The error also meant Amis and Mitchell were both on base when slugger Josh Terrell strode to the plate.

Terrell blasted a three-run home run to give the Saints a 4-0 lead and they never looked back en route to a 4-1 win.

Enterprise scored its only run in the second inning.

Eric Hutcheson was the winning pitcher. He pitched a complete game allowing one run on four hits and three walks in seven innings. He struck out eight in the win.

In the second game, the Saints fell behind 3-0 in the second inning.

The Saints remained behind until the bottom of the sixth inning when four runs crossed the plate for a 4-3 lead.

Jonathan Rasberry, Austin Stein and David Williamson each scored in the inning. Williamson and David Ezell had RBI hits in the inning.

Chris Copeland was the winning pitcher in the second game allowing no runs on one hit. He struck out two in 1 1/3 innings of work.

The Saints return to the diamond Friday when they travel to Phenix City to play Chattahoochee Valley Community College at noon.
