Myra Benton
Myra Benton, of Gantt, died Thursday, April 10, 2003 in a Dothan hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2003, at 11 a.m. from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Sharpe and Rev. Leonard Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Humphreys of Marietta, Ga.; one grandson, Trey Humphreys, one sister and brother-in-law, Annie Jo and Sanders Morrison of Mobile.
Mrs. Benton was a retired school teacher with the Covington County School System having taught over 40 years in the system. She was also a member of the Gantt Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Chris Hildreth, Jack Morrison, Jamie Hildreth, Keith Morrison, Richard Morrison and Carey Hinson.
Caudy Faye Patterson
Caudy Faye Patterson, 76, of Andalusia, died Friday, April 11, 2003 in a Wetumpka nursing facility.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 13, 2003 at 2 p.m. from the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Hazel and Billy Owens of Wetumpka; two grandchildren, William Christopher Owens of Selma and Nicole Owens Roberts of Wetumpka; one great grandchild, Briana Roberts; two brothers, Curtis Williams of Red Level and Archie Williams of Andalusia; two sisters, Loyette Stephens of Andalusia; and Mary Lou Cowan of Atlanta.
Mrs. Patterson was a retired school cafeteria supervisor and member of Southside Baptist Church.
Visitation will be at Foreman Funeral Home at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Dora Belle Saunders
Dora Belle Saunders, 84, of Wing, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003 in a local hospital. Funeral services were held, Friday, April 11, 2003 at 2 p.m. from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Terry Campbell and Rev. Anthony Clark officiating. Special music by Virginia Knox, soloist, Nancy Clark, pianist. Burial followed in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Saunders of Wing; two sons, Robert (Jean) Saunders of Montgomery and Tommy Saunders of Wing; three grandchildren, John Saunders, Stephen Saunders, and Susanne Darnell; six great-grandchildren, Amy, Lisa, Aaron and Micah Saunders and Dalton and Lakin Darnell; one sister, Annie Pearl Fuller of Andlausia
Pallbearers were Robert Little, Paul Smith, Bill Osborne, John Knox, Donald Gene Smith and Wade Jones.
J.I. Maddox
J.I. Maddox, 84, of Andalusia, died Saturday, April 5, 2003 at his residence.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2003 at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Little, Rev. Gary Miller, Rev. Earl Currenton and Rev. Woodrow Plant officiating. Burial followed in Judson Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jolene and Junior Williams of Red Level; his sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Mac and Candy Maddox of Pensacola, Fla. and Donald and Susan Maddox of Andalusia; four grandchildren, Robbie Williams, Todd Maddox, Scotty Maddox and Mandy Maddox; three great-grandchildren, Josh Williams, Lauren Williams and Robert Williams.
Pallbearers include Sammy Brown, Jimmy Bass, Junior Dozier, James Thomasson, Joe Pittman and David Sightler.
