Joe Max Butts

Joe Max Butts, 70, of the Babbie Community, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Keahey Funeral Home with Father John Holleman officiating. Special music was provided by Cindy Perrin, Marie Smet, Catherine Estis, Bobby Harris. Eulogies were provided by his daughter, Beth Creech; granddaughter, Heather George; and brother-in-law, Mike Turner. Burial followed in the Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Alice Turner Butts of Andalusia; sons, Patrick Vinson and Joseph Butts, both of Andalusia; daughter, Beth Creech of Birmingham; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and David Rogers of Andalusia; special adopted daughter, Brenda Crowson, four grandchildren, Valerie George, Heather George, Jessica Rogers and Nathan Rogers.

Pallbearers included David Rogers, Robert Cook, Johnnie Spicer, Tex Powell, Rickey Veasey and John Powell.

Brandy Keith Owens

Brandy Keith Owens, 35, of Andalusia, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 in Andalusia.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Jackson officiating. Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Jamie Keith Owens of Opp; daughter, Brittany Diane Owens of Opp; father and stepmother, Lewis and Ann Owens of Dozier; mother, Betty Jo Hollingsworth of Opp; three brothers, Kevin (Joy) Owens of Andalusia, Troy (Jessica) Owens of Dozier and Brian Hollingsworth of Opp; maternal grandmother, Frances Edwards of Opp.

Pallbearers were Foy Gunter, Joey Gunter, Glen Gunter, Grover Gunter, Jamie Owens and Russell Gunter.

Ernest P. Lisenby

Ernest P. Lisenby, 85, of Opp, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 in an Opp hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 18, 2003 at 3 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Stanley and Rev. Reuben Grimes officiating. Burial followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with full Military Honors.

A 27-year veteran of the United States Army, he served during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his son, Jimmy D. Williams of Andalusia, daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Tom Knowles of Red Level; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Max and Euna Lisenby of Opp; brother, Rev. Floyd Lisenby of Minden, La.; two grandchildren, Ricky Knowles and Marilyn Davis; four great-grandchildren, Shonda Knowles, Summer Knowles, Heather Davis and Brittany Davis.

Mr. Ernest P. Lisenby was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Lisenby.

The United States Army served as active pallbearers.

Boncille Thompson Hart

Boncille Thompson Hart, 82, of Florala died Thursday, April 17, 2003 in a Pensacola hospital.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2003 at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Taylor and Rev. Johnny White officiated. Special music was provided by Gwen Coone and Tera Belle Hamilton. Burial followed in North Creek Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Sonny Franklin (Carolyn) Hart; Kenneth Todd (Dee) Hart of New Orleans, La.; daughters and sons-in-law, Shelley (Bobby) White, Pensacola; Sue (LeRoy) White of Pensacola; Ferrolyn (Harold) Elmore, of Andalusia; three sisters, Terry Elmore, Bobbie McAdams, Carol Scarberry; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hart.

Margenia Thomason Caraway

Margenia Thomason Caraway, 73, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Covington County, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 in Winter Haven, Fla.

Graveside services were held Saturday, April 19 at 11 a.m. at the New Home Congregational Church Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Donald R. Caraway and Ronald Caraway, both of Winter Haven; three daughters, Beverly Murphy of Lake Wales, Fla., Barbara Caraway and Phyllis Caraway, both of Winter Haven; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jeanette Nall of Andalusia.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Good Shepard Hospice.

Myrtie Ree Petty

Myrtie Ree Petty, 72, of Red Level died Saturday, April 19, 2003 in a Georgiana nursing facility.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at Keahey Funeral Home. Burial followed in Good Hope Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include husband, James Merrill Petty of Red Level; daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen (Donnie) Wiggins of Red Level, Ramona (Gary) Thompson of Pisgah; brother and sister-in-law, Aubrey J. (Fran) Cox of Red Level; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Louise (Matthew) Morgan of Red Level; Mittie Peter, Red Level; Yvonne (Wendal) Bush of Red Level; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Elma Williams Chesteen

Elma Williams Chesteen, 79, of Andalusia died Sunday, April 20, 2003 in an Opp hospital.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Ganus officiating. Burial followed in Harmony Cemetery.

She is survived by one brother, Carroll Williams of Dothan.

Pallbearers will include Mike Williams, Phillip Willisan, Joey Williams, Bobby Hardy, Kaine Hardy, Jeremy Archie.

Dorothy Kelly King

Dorothy Kelly King, 71, of Marianna, Fla. formerly of Andalusia died Saturday, April 19, 2003 in Marianna.

Graveside services were Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Tim Plant officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Gary Plant of Marianna; two grandsons, Justin Gary Plant and wife

Asya of Saraland and Chad Murray Plant of Marianna; one brother, Buddy Ricks of Brgdenton, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray King, and a son, Jimmy King.

Pallbearers included Charley Cope, Ward Fisher, Jurell Davis, Fred Winkler, Justin Plant and Chad Plant.

Pauline Green Smith

Pauline Green Smith, 81, of Georgiana formerly of Brantley, died Monday, April 21, 2003 in a Georgiana nursing facility.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Etheridge officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Bruce Smith of Dozier; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Kate Senns of Dozier, Annie Green of Florala, Margaret Biggs, Jay, Fla. and Frances Gay of Andalusia; two brothers, Charlie Green of Andalusia and Burie Green of Andalusia.
