Bucs eliminate Saints

A 20-2 loss to Shelton State Buccaneers ended the season for the LBW Saints baseball team Monday.
The LBW Saints baseball team started the state tournament in Dothan with a win against Northwest Shoals.
LBW 9, NW Shoals 3: Keith Roberts pitched 8 1/3 innings, scattering 10 hits and allowing only two earned runs. He walked two and struck out five.
Offensively, Chase Amis and Jake Wells had two hits each for LBW.
Northwest Shoals was paced offensively by Josh Fowler, Hunter Johnson, Steven Olinsky and Jon Taylor, all of whom had two hits. Chandler Ganick was the losing pitcher.
The Saints fell to Bevill-Fayette in their second game of the tournament sending them into the losers' bracket. Bevill-Fayette earned a one-run win against the Saints by a final score of 7-6.
The Saints had taken an early lead on a home run by Josh Terrell in the first inning. The Saints were up 3-2 after one inning and held a 5-2 lead later in the game before Bevill-Fayette mounted its comeback.
The Saints faced Shelton State in an elimination game Monday afternoon and lost by a final score of 20-2.
The Saints committed eight errors in the loss.
