Lila Hart Kirkland
Lila Hart Kirkland, 86, of Opp, died Monday, May 19, 2003, in an Opp hospital.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 22 at 3 p.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Jerry Kirkland of Opp; Jimmy and Jeanice Kirkland of Andalusia; grandchildren, Karen and Buck Copeland of Opp, Kathryn Page of Andalusia, Kim and Kent Back of Gadsden; great-grandchildren, Cam, Jay, and Beth Copeland of Opp, Aaron and Brianna Page of Andalusia, and Allen and Kirkland Back of Gadsden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kirkland; her parents, Tom and Lou Hart; sister, Lucille MacKowen; brother, Hugh Hart; and a granddaughter, Susan Kirkland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Opp Nursing Facility, Social Services, Paulk Ave., Opp, Ala. 36467.
Pallbearers will be Cory Spurlin, Skipper Spurlin, Allen Back, Robby Messick, Cam Copeland and Chris Short.
Shawn Michael Page
Shawn Michael Page, 5, of Andalusia, died Monday, May 19, 2003, in an Andalusia hospital.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2003 at Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his parents, Michael and Angela Page; two brothers, Daniel Garrett and Thomas Aaron Kirkland, all of Andalusia;
one sister, Alexandria Brieanna Page of Andalusia; maternal grandparents, Gene and Charlene Miller of Milton, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Lamar and Irene Garrett of Red Level; paternal grandmother, Margie Page of Andalusia; paternal great-grandmother, Anne Maude Coon of Opp.
Mike Benbow
Mike Benbow, 42, of Andalusia, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21 at 10 a.m. at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Sims officiating. Special music was provided by the family. Burial followed in the Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include a son, Micheal Lee Benbow Jr.; a daughter, Nelda Denise Benbow, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; three brothers, Lonnie Frank Benbow, David L. Benbow, both of Andalusia, and Ronald J. Benbow of New Haven, Conn.; and a sister, Dot Rodgers of Andalusia; four nephews, 12 nieces, ex-wife, Mary Denise Allen.
Pallbearers included Tommy Joe Walker, Eric Fincher, Eddie Jr. Walker, James Walker, Ronnie Wiggins and Jason Cooper.
