Two games equalled two wins for the American Legion Post 80 baseball team Thursday.

The Post 80 squad traveled to Dothan for a doubleheader against Northview. The teams played two five-inning games with Post 80 winning both contests.

Starting pitcher Will Cammack had a strong outing on the mound. He just missed tossing a no-hitter.

Cammack and the Post 80 defense held the Northview squad hitless through four and two-third innings.

Cammack had a batter with two strikes. He was one strike away from a no-hitter, but it was not meant to be as the Northview batter got a triple. Cammack held Northview to the lone hit to get the win.

Post 80 won the game by a final score of 5-0. Trevor Mathews started the game with a leadoff walk and scored for an early 1-0 lead.

Zack Chavers added a run in the second for Post 80 and a 2-0 lead.

Josh McCraney and Neal Patterson both scored in the third inning for a 4-0 lead.

McCraney rounded the bases again in the fifth for a 5-0 lead.

In the other game, the Post 80 squad outscored Northview for a 13-6 victory.

Chase Arrington scored the first run of the game for Post 80 in the first inning.

Andrew Bryan, Maloy and Dutton scored in the third inning.

Patterson, Bryan, Maloy and Dutton added insurance runs in the fourth inning.

Tyler Wilson scored a run in the fifth inning to make it a lucky 13 runs for the Post 80 squad.
