Some people are so brave.

It was in the middle of the day Wednesday that I realized just how brazen some people really are. It was about 2 or 3 p.m. Someone I work with had to run out to her truck to get something and when she returned she told us that someone had stolen the radio out of her husband's truck.

I don't understand what would possess someone to do this. Not only was the truck sitting beside a window of the office, but the police station is right across the street.

There is an apartment complex on the side of the Andalusia Star-News building and cars are constantly passing by out front

on Dunson Street.

It is sad that you can't even park a vehicle outside of your workplace without having to worry that someone is going to steal something out of it. This isn't the first vehicle that has been broken into at the newspaper building and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Why do people have such a lack of respect for other people's property that they would break into the truck owned by someone they don't even know and take something that doesn't belong to them?

I hope that the person that has done this thinks about how it would make them feel to have this done to them. Maybe if they got ripped off, and see how it makes them feel they won't do it to anyone else.

I hear from people who lived in times when they said it was safe to leave their house doors, not to mention their car doors, unlocked. They didn't worry about people breaking into their homes and kidnapping their kids or stealing something out of their vehicle.

The people who do this are not stupid or they would get caught; they just don't care or are desperate. How many people do you know that would stop someone from stealing a radio if they saw someone doing it? Not many. Most people say

"It's not my problem." Well it may not be your problem this time, but it might be the next time.

The cycle is never going to end as long as we have the views we have on the morals of society today. Almost anything is acceptable.

These people know the difference between right and wrong. They just decide to go with the easiest way to get something they want quickly.

It is sad to me.
