Stingrays win another swim meet

Perfection is unattainable, but the Andalusia Stingrays continue to win. A win against the Troy Tiger Sharks has the Stingrays perfect on the season with a

3-0 record.

The Stingrays earned five first-place ribbons in the individual medley with Christopher Smith, Emma Garner, Tom Cook, Christina Christensen and Nicole Couch earning blue ribbons. Haley Moody and Erin St. John had second-place finsihes.

The Stingrays also did well in the breaststroke events. Emma Garner, Stinson Thompson, Haley Moody, Addie Garner, Sam Bass, Morgan Watson and Lane Rider each had first-place finishes. Several other Stingrays also placed.

The Stingrays won four blue ribbons in freestyle events. Tom Cook, Starla Jones, Nav Tandon and Morgan Watson each took home first-place ribbons. Several other Stingrays also placed to earn points for the team.

The medley relay events continued to be a big source of points for the Stingrays with five first-place finishes. The Stingray relay teams also earned four second-place finishes in medley relay events.

The butterfly swimmers for the Stingrays also brought home some critical points. Dalton Watson, Tom Cook, Tyler Moody, Caitlin Rider and Justin Moody each earned first-place ribbons. The Stingrays also had four second-place finsihes and two third-place finsihes in the butterfly events.

Meredith Grace Kerr earned a first-place ribbon in the girls 8–and-under 25-yard backstroke. Also earning first-place ribbons for themselves and points for the Stingrays in backstroke events were Jordan Theus, Amber Thomas, Morgan Watson and Lane Rider.

In more freestyle events, the Stingrays earned two first-place finsihes with Christina Christensen and Tyler Moody taking home blue ribbons. The Stingrays also had two second-place finsihes and two third-place finishes.

In the freestyle relays, the Stingrays won five first-places and three second-places.

The Stingrays return to the pool for the next meet on Thursday, July 10. The Stingrays will be busy practicing for the July 10 meet which is the District Meet. Swimmers will attempt to qualify for the State Meet. The District Meet is being held in Troy. The State Meet will be held in Scottsboro on Friday, July 25.
