In a hard-fought effort, the Andalusia All-Stars were simply out hit by the Brewton All-Stars in a tight, and wild 4-3 loss in action at the 11&12-year-old District Little League Tournament in Brewton Sunday night.

The bats were swinging freely for the Andalusia effort when Jay McCord bunted his way into a triple, scoring Mason Lee, giving Andalusia a 1-0 lead. McCord scored on a single, giving Andalusia a 2-0 lead.

Brewton matched the Andalusia effort with two runs of their own, leveling the score at 2 apiece in the bottom of the first.

In the top of the 2, neither team scored, and it was 3 up and 3 down for the Brewton All-Stars.

The score remained tied through the fifth inning when Brewton scored two.

In the sixth, Andalusia mounted a comeback as Christopher Kelly tripled, and then stole home on a wild pitch, making the score 4-3. Despite Kelly's run, Andalusia's comeback effort was put down with Brewton taking the game 4-3. Andalusia was scheduled to play Monday night against East Brewton, with a score from that game in Wednesday's Star-News.
