The bones are rattling even now. At 8 a.m., the 28th annual World Championship Domino Tournament began at the Kiwanis Community Center. Sponsored by the Andalusia Rotary Club, the event raises money for children and others with special needs.

Competitors from all across the nation have been arriving all week for the event. Some even got a head start, with a round robin tournament Thursday, hosted by the Kansas City "Show Me" Domino Club, which has faithfully supplied many players - and champions - over the years.

Thursday, the Rotary Club set up tables for players and vendors while the caterers were busy in the kitchen, preparing for tonight's big meal, which begins at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m. , the club will hold its annual drawing for the sweepstakes prize, a choice of $15,000 or a new car. Tickets for the dinner are still available.
