Vonnie Lee Prestwood

Graveside services for Vonnie Lee Prestwood were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003 at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with visitation one hour prior to the services at Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include two brothers, Billy Prestwood of Ohio and Tom Prestwood of Pensacola, Fla. She was the beloved aunt of Tricia Light, Johnny Cross, Larry Jeter, Tommie Lois Prestwood, Bill Hayes, Tom Hayes, Evelyn Cornwell, Melissa Prestwood, David Prestwood, and Rosemary Prestwood. Other survivors include her aunt, Gertrude Jones, Mary Shear and one uncle, Earl Shear.

Marcus Michael (Mike) Nolen

Marcus Michael (Mike) Nolen, 43, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 in an automobile accident.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2003 at Keahey Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Hughes and Minister Earl Mitchel officiating. Speicial music was provided by

Allen Sasser and the Buck Creek Church Choir. Burial followed in the Sweet Home Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Nolen of Red Level; mother, Betty Nolen of Dothan; father, Marcus Dewayne Nolen of Red Level; son, Brad Nolen of Dothan; two step-sons, Chase Taylor of Red Level; Lance Taylor of Red Level; mother of Brad Nolen, Cathy McKenzie of Dothan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony and Bonita Merritt Nolen of Red Level; Ricky and Debbie Nolen of Dothan; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Wayne Morris of Dothan; nieces, Tanisha Nolen and Sara Nolen; nephews, Ryan Morris, Private 1st Class,

of Dothan, Chase Nolen of Andalusia; Nicholas Nolen of Dothan, Matthew Nolen of Dothan; step nieces and nephews, Brandi Nolen, Tori Merritt, Erica Folmar, Danny Folmar, Courtney Ivey and Trey Hughes; mother-in-law, Rhonda Patterson.

Mr. Marcus Michael (Mike) Nolen was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rusaw and Bessie Nolen; maternal grandparents, James and Edith Dreading.

Pallbearers were Kenny Varner, Danny Dreading, Ben Kervin, Paul Ingram, David Floyd, Kim Little. Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Nelson and David Carter.

James Arthur Gorsuch Jr.

James Arthur Gorsuch Jr., 70, of Andaluisa, died Thursday, July 10, 2003

at his residence.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 13, 2003 at 2 p.m. from the Red Oak Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Gorsuch of Andalusia; two daughters, Sharon Hury (John) of Dallas and Darlene Mulrine (Buck) of Conroe, Texas; three stepdaughters, Sherri Uhde of Jackson, Tenn., Sonya Qudus (Abdul) of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Shannon Hutcherson (Mike) of Conroe, Texas; eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Myrna Luna (Roland) and Phyllis Gorsuch, both of San Antonio, Texas and one brother, Edwin Gorsuch of San Antonio, Texas.

Pallbearers were Ray Turner, T. J. Bulger, Larry Bulger, Michael Bulger, Heath Bulger, Tim Turner and Daron Bulger. Honorary pallbearers willbe Gordon Bulger and Daniel Bulger.

Mary Lou Mikel

Mary Lou Mikel, 95, of Andalusia died Sunday, July 12, 2003 in a local nursing home.

Funeral services willbe held Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at 11 a.m. from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be int he Good News Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jay Drive officiating.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, William R. and Audie Mikel Jr.; three grandsons, Dwight Mikel, Benjy Mikel and Anthony Mikel; four great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Lullis and Hugh Hudgins of Atlanta, Ga. and one brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Nettie Zuber of Videer, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Mikel, Benjy Mikel, Anthony Mikel, Jeff Mills, Neal King and Jerry Hudson. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Foreman Funeral Home.

Ray Jackson

Ray Jackson, 78, of Opp died Saturday, July 12 in Opp Health and Rehab facility.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2003 at Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Blue Springs Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Jackson of Opp; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Linda Jackson, Allen and Jamie Jackson, Michael and Sandra Jackson, all of Opp; brothers, Coleman Jackson of Columbus, Ga., and Billy Taylor of Opp; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren.

Family is receiving friends at the home of Inez Jackson at 15438 Old School Road, Opp.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Blue Springs Baptist Church or the Alzhiemers Foundation.
