All-Stars finished second at sub-district

The 12-and-under Andalusia

All-Stars finished second at the sub-district softball tournament hosted by Enterprise earlier this month.

After a 12-0 win against Opp, the Andalusia squad topped Greenville by a final score of 11-5.

Katie Bass started the game in the pitcher's circle and went four innings in the win. She allowed two runs on five walks and three hits. She struck out three. MaryBeth Arrington pitched two innings and struck out five of the six batters she faced. She did not give up a hit or a walk.

Kayla Teel scored two runs in the win and stole a base. Bass and Arrington also scored twice for Andalusia. D'Amber Chambers scored one run and had three RBIs in the win. Erin Byrd scored one run and had two RBIs. Stephanie Bracewell, Kim Tell and Kayla Wells also scored.

The win sent Andalusia into the title game against the Enterprise All-Stars. Andalusia fell, in a close game, by a final score of 2-0.

Arrington pitched all five innings for Andalusia and allowed two runs on three hits and two walks. She struck out nine for more than half of the outs.

Andalusia had more hits in the game with five along with one walk.

Kim Teel had two hits in the loss and was stranded on third in the fourth inning.

Chambers had one hit in the game and was stranded on third base in the second inning.

Kayla Teel and Arrington also had one hit in the game.
