Robert J. Kelley
SFC Robert J. Kelley, 31, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2003 in Fort Gordon, Ga.
A native of Covington County, he graduated with the Class of 1990 at Opp High School and later a graduate of New Mexico Military School. He had served in the U.S. Army for the past 11 years.
Survivors are his wife, Yuko Kelley of Colorado Springs, Colo.; parents, John W. Kelley and Glenda A. Kelley of Mesa, Az.; two sisters, Vicki Kelley and Victoria Ann Kelley; two brothers, Darren Kelley and Jeff Kelley; great-grandmother, Ruby Kelley of Red Oak Community in Covington County.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2003 at the Red Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Maddox officiating. Burial will followi n Red Oak Cemetery with military graveside honors by Fort Rucker Honor Guard.
Mack Sawyer
Mack Sawyer, 96, of Andalusia, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003 in an Andalusia hospital.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Faircloth officiating and burial following in Stone Lake Cemetery.
Survivors include his son, Thomas Mack Sawyer of Kansas City, Mo.; his step-daughter, Barbara Selvey of Greenville; two grandchildren, Andy Andrews and Kristi Andrews; his sister, Nell Baker of Destin; special friend Vassie Weaver of Andalusia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna; his daughter, Joye Sawyer Andrews and two grandchildren, Roy Selvey and Patricia Selvey.
Pallbearers were Gerald Benson, Ken Wallick, Gaston Green, Emory Baker, Freddie Baker and Andy Andrews.
James Hoyle Little
James Hoyle Little ,72, of Andaluisa died Thursday, July 24, 2003, in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003 at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Kelley officiating and burial following in Salem Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Wesley Worley; a son, Daniel Little of Santa Fe, Navarre, all of Andalusia; five grandchildren, Wendy Worley of Opp, Valerie Cooper of Andalusia; Michael Little of Loango, Jamie Owens and Leslie Tice, both of Andalusia; three great grandchildren, Marcus Kirby, Madison Cooper, Chantz Little; four sisters, Sara Mitchell of Andalusia; Mavis (John) Cason, of Andalusia, Pauline Sears of Pensacola, Margie Adams of Del Ray, Fla.; a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Little; son, James Michael Little, and daughter, Hoylene Owens.
Pallbearers will be Tony Ballard, David Little, Michael Martin, Dale Owens, Scott Ziglar and Gary Thorton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 Friday at Foreman Funeral Home.
