After a long break from game action the Andalusia United under-13 soccer team hit the pitch Sunday afternoon for a friendly against the Dothan under-13 squad.

The rust showed on the part of the Andalusia United squad, which was without its full compliment of players. The Dothan team took an early lead and held a 5-0 advantage at the halftime intermission.

Dothan continued to take advantage of Andalusia's time away from competition in the second half scoring seven more goals for a 12-0 win.

The Andalusia players, however, played hard and showed a lot of effort during the game.

The Andalusia players had a few breakaways in the first half, but could not sneak the ball past Dothan's goalie on the hot afternoon.

Andalusia's defense also played hard the entire game, but were unable to recapture the team chemistry that aided the players at the Alabama Sports Festival Games earlier this summer.

Andalusia is a Division II team which means it is a "recreational play, intermediate level or premier" team. The Dothan squad is a Division I team which is more advanced than Division II.
