Pleasant Home School Principal and Athletic Director Jim Garner will be seeing red if he does not see a lot of red and white Thursday night.

Garner said he wants a big crowd for the Thursday night high school football game between the Pleasant Home Eagles and the Straughn Tigers.

Pleasant Home is hosting the game with kickoff set for 7 p.m. Tickets to the game may be purchased in advance at both schools for $4. Tickets will be $5 at the gate.

Garner said he wants to see a lot of Pleasant Home fans at the game and will be upset if the Straughn Tigers have more fans than the home team.

Extra bleachers have been borrowed to allow for extra seating on the visitor's side of the field, but Garner wants the home stands to be packed.

The Covington County Sheriff's Mounted Posse will be at the game to help assist with traffic flow and parking. The gates open at 5:30 p.m. with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

It is a big game for both school because it is the first regular season game of the year. It is also the first regular season game to be played in Covington County.

The other four teams from Covington County play Friday night. Andalusia travels to Troy to play Charles Henderson at 7 p.m. The game will be played in the newly-renovated Movie Gallery Memorial Stadium.

Opp is at home against Luverne on Friday with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.

The Red Level Tigers will also begin the 2003 season with a home game. The Tigers will host the Florala Wildcats with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
