Just Candie wins league title

Sweet as candy.

The Just Candie team won the Thursday Morning Summer Bowling League at Boland Lanes II in Andalusia with 83 points.

Last week was the 15th and final week of the season as the Just Candie team held off the Shroom team for first-place honors.

The Bowling Nut team finished in third followed by the J.J. team in fourth and the No Good team in fifth.

Butch Lints had the top scores last week with a 210 scratch game, 563 scratch series, 245 handicap game and 668 handicap series.

Lints also swept the high scores for the season among the men with a 226 scratch game, 563 scratch series, 260 handicap game and 668 handicap series.

Mary Jo Bryant had three top scores among the women with a 196 scratch game, 472 scratch series and 244 handicap game.

Candie Chandler had the best handicap series score of the week with a 652.

Vicki Gaston had two of the top scores for the season with a 213 scratch game and a 686 scratch series.

Bonnie Dove had a 538 scratch series for top honors. Nita Jenkins had the best handicap game score among the women for the season with a 266.

High scores by teams includes two by the SSDD squad with a 226 scratch game and 563 scratch series.

The JJ squad had the best handicap game of the season with a 266.

The Shroom team's 686 handicap series was tops for the season.

NIGHT LEAGUE

The Andalusia Body Shop has a slim two-point lead on the Covington Casket Company team going into the final week of the season.

Buddy Jay had the top scores among the men last week with a 236 scratch game, 578 scratch series, 260 handicap game and 650 handicap series.

Melody Gunter was tops among the women with a 235 scratch game, 587 scratch series, 259 handicap game and 659 handicap series.

THURSDAY NIGHT

MIXED LEAGUE

Here Goes Nothing is in first place after 13 weeks of the 16-week season. The Pretenders are in second followed by the MIA squad.

Toby Freeman had two top scores last week with a 230 scratch game and a 252 handicap game. Benton Parsons also had two top scores with a 568 scratch series and a 661 handicap series.

Sherry Freeman had two top scores among the women with a 519 scratch series and a 654 handicap series. Ruth Cook had the best scratch game among the women with a 209. Joyce Stinson had the best handicap game score among the women with a 258.
