Valley shutout, finishes sixth

The Valley, Alabama Babe Ruth baseball team's run came to a close late Thursday night with a 13-0 loss to a team from West Jefferson Parrish, La. at the Babe Ruth World Series.

The loss was just the second of the World Series for Valley, but came in an elimination game. Valley finished the season tied for sixth in the world in Babe Ruth Baseball.

The squad from Louisiana advanced to an elimination game with the winner of that game going to the championship game.

The Valley squad won a state championship earlier this season.

Valley also won the 2003 Babe Ruth Southeast Regional Tournament, hosted by the City of Andalusia, at Crum Foshee Field on the campus of LBW Community College.
