An unidentified white male was injured in a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday evening on Straughn School Road.

When asked if it appeared the car was attempting to make a pass on another vehicle traveling on Straughn School Road, Alabama State Trooper Chuck Bitel said it appeared that was the case, and the accident remains under investigation.

The names of the motorists involved in the wreck were not being released.

The driver of the automobile, a turquoise-colored Dodge, did not appear to be injured as he was asked questions about the wreck while sitting in cruiser from the Covington County Sheriff's Department. The driver of the automobile was a young, white male. The airbag in the Dodge was deployed.

The driver of the Honda Shadow motorcycle was transported via ambulance to a local hospital, Bitel said.

Bitel said the driver of the motorcycle was a white male. He did not comment on the extent of the injuries.

The wreck occurred in front of the residence of Mike and Cindy Murphy, at 33455 Straughn School Road, approximately four miles east of Straughn School. The wreck was reported between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. with emergency personnel responding.
