One big play was the difference. Opp JV quarterback Ryan Cooke raced 26 yards for a touchdown and the only score of the Bobcats' game against the Andalusia JV Bulldogs for a 6-0 win last night in Opp.

Cam Copeland set up the Opp offense with excellent field position when he recovered a fumble. The Bobcats then clawed out the only score of the game on Cooke's run. The Bobcats went for two, but came up short. Cooke's pass to George Patterson led him out of bounds. Patterson's diving catch was ruled incomplete when he came down on a section of cement in out-of-bounds territory.

The JV Bulldogs had chances to score, but they slipped away.

Andalusia receivers were unable to come down with passes from quarterback Matt Mellown on the final two plays of the first half.

Andalusia got down to the 11-yard line on the drive thanks to a big run by D'Andre Lee. The Opp defense, however, held the Bulldogs out of the end zone and the score remained knotted at 0-0 going into the half.

Opp's Reggie Jones had a few big runs for the Bobcats and a pass interception in the game.

Andalusia's next JV game is set for Monday, Sept. 8 against Hillcrest-Evergreen. It will be the home-opener for the JV Bulldogs. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
