Chester Kirksey

Chester Kirksey, 58, of the Harmony Community, died Saturday, August 23, 2003 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at Keahey Funeral Home of Andalusia.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include sons, Chester Brandon Kirksey of Brewton and Brady Evan Kirksey of Andalusia; daughter, Tessa Nichole Kirksey of Pennsylvania; half-brothers, Brady Kirksey, Augusta, Ga., James Kirksey of New Jersey.

Thomas Edward Harrison

Thomas Edward Harrison, 81, of Andalusia died Monday, August 25, 2003 in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 29, 2003 at 3 p.m. from the Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Currenton and Rev. Fred Kelley will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ginger and Tommy Hitson of Jacksonville, Fla., and Toni and Billy Douglas of Andalusia; four grandchildren, Cameron Catri, Michael Garin, Brayton Douglas and Brendon Douglas and his beloved dog, Samson.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Marguerite Griffin Harrison and Wanda Harrison.

Mr. Harrison, (Tom as he was known to his friends) was born and reared in Brazil, Ind. He came to Andalusia in 1964 at the insistence of his lifelong friend Johnny Portemont, for an employment position with Johnny's United Shows. He remained employed with Johnny's United Shows for 20 years. He was then employed with Taylor Parts as a wrecker salesman. Tom was a 32nd degree Shriner, past member of various Showman's Clubs and an amature racecar driver. He was also a lifelong fan of Notre Dame football and also of Nascar racing.

The body will lie in state from 6 p.m. Thursday at Foreman Funeral Home.
