AHS face No. 1 team, again

It's deja vu all over again for the Andalusia Bulldogs. Andalusia will be the home team this Friday night when the No. 1-ranked Class 3A team in the state comes to town. It is the second week in a row the Bulldogs have played a No. 1-ranked team.

Last week, the Bulldogs played the No. 1-ranked Class 4A UMS-Wright Bulldogs.

This week, the Bulldogs will host the No. 1-ranked T.R. Miller Tigers with kickoff set for 7 p.m. The Tigers are ranked No. 1 in Class 3A.

Andalusia Head Coach Tom Causey sounded like an echo of himself from a week ago when interviewed about this week's opponent.

"They are a pretty good football team," Causey said about the Tigers. "They are going to be in the right place. They are going to attack you at all times. They are going to do the little things.

"They play hard and are used to winning," Causey added.

Andalusia's game plan for the Tigers is the same as it was for the No. 1-ranked UMS-Wright Bulldogs.

"I sound like a broken record, but we have to keep the ball away from them," Causey said. "We have to keep their offense off the field, not turn the ball over and be sound in the kicking game. We can't be beat in special teams"

Causey said his Bulldogs showed some improvement last week, but still have plenty of room for improvement.

"They (the players) felt better about the way we played, but we still have a ways to go. Any way you slice it, we still got beat by 22 points last Friday," he said.
