In a switch, the Opp Lady Bobcats and Elba Lady Tigers decided to play the varsity volleyball match first and let the JV squads square off in the second match Tuesday.

Opp might reschedule all of its matches for the same format after earning a win against the Lady Tigers.

Opp won the first game of the match, using rally scoring, by a final score of 25-22.

The Lady Tigers reached back and found a little something extra to win the second game by a final score of 27-25.

The score was all tied up at one game each in the best-three-out-of-five match going into the third game.

The Lady Bobcats got back on track and won the third game by a score of 25-13 against the Lady Tigers.

The Lady Bobcats followed up by winning the next game and the match. The Lady Bobcats outscored Elba 25-19 in the fourth and deciding game of the match.

Opp Head Coach Janie Sasser said the Lady Bobcats showed a ton of improvement and really played as a team against Elba.

"We looked much better today than we have looked all season," Sasser said. "It seemed like they played much better as a team."

Elba won the JV match sweeping the Lady Bobcats in straight games.

Elba won the first JV game of the match 25-17 and then won the second game 25-14.

The Opp Lady Bobcats return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 16 when the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers come to town. The first game is set for a 4:30 p.m. start.
