Lady Bulldogs fall to Kinston in volleyball action

Kinston almost swept all three matches against teams from Andalusia in volleyball action Monday.

The Andalusia Middle School team prevented Kinston from earning a clean sweep with a win in three games. The AMS Lady Bulldogs won by a final school of 11-25, 25-16 and 16-14.

The Andalusia High School varsity and junior varsity teams did not fare as well against their counterparts.

The JV match went to Kinston by a final score of 16-25 and 20-25.

The varsity Lady Bulldogs fell in three games by a final score of 7-25, 10-25 and 19-25.

The Lady Bulldogs, however, did go 2-2 at the Kinston Tournament this past Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs won against Zion Chapel and Samson to finish second in its pool after a loss to Enterprise.

In a semi-final match, the Lady Bulldogs fell to Kinston to finish tied for third place with the Elba Lady Tigers.

Enterprise won the tournament with Kinston in second.

Andalusia's Mary Beth Wilkes was named to the all-tournament team.

The Lady Bulldogs return to the court today when they travel to Brewton to take on T.R. Miller. The next home match is set for Thursday when the Lady Bulldogs host Samson. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m. The AMS Lady Bulldogs also play Thursday when they travel to Geneva.
