Lady Bulldogs sweep Lady Bobcats

Andalusia's Lady Bulldogs rebounded from a loss to the Elba Lady Tigers on Tuesday with a clean sweep of the visiting Opp Lady Bobcats in high school volleyball action on Thursday.

Andalusia won the first game of the best-two-out-of-three match by a final score of 25-12.

Andalusia fell behind at the start 2-0 before rallying for a 15-2 lead behind the accurate serving of Hannah Bush.

Kristan Champion had one spike for a kill in the first game. Mary Beth Wilkes had two spikes for points.

The Lady Bulldogs won the second game 25-22 after holding off an Opp rally.

Kristan Champion helped the Lady Bulldogs with two strong serves in the second game for a 10-7 lead at one point.

Opp rallied to get within two points late in the game by a score of 19-17. The Lady Bobcats tied the score up at 20-20 before the Lady Bulldogs earned a 25-22 win. Katie Tyler had two powerful serves for the final two points of the game.

In the third and deciding game of the match, Andalusia won by a score of 25-21 in a close game that went back and forth.

In the junior varsity match, Andalusia ousted the Lady Bobcats by a final score of 25-11 and 25-14.

The JV Lady Bulldogs entered the match against Opp fresh off a win against the Elba Lady Tigers on Tuesday.

The Andalusia Middle School volleyball team also recorded a win against its counterpart from Elba on Tuesday.

The AMS Lady Bulldogs won by a score of 25-15 and 25-13 in Elba.

Andalusia's varsity and junior varsity teams return to the court on Sept. 25 at Ariton. The first game is set for a 3:30 p.m. start

The Opp Lady Bobcats return to action on Sept. 23 with a home match against the Samson Lady Tigers. The first game is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
