Lady Bulldogs sweep tri-match

Volleyball fans got their money's worth at Andalusia High School on Thursday with five matches. The afternoon began with a middle school match at 4:30 p.m. and ended at 9 p.m.

Fans enjoyed more than four hours of volleyball, with many of the matches being very competitive, for only $3.

Plus, the Andalusia fans went home happy after the Lady Bulldogs went undefeated with wins against T.R. Miller and Ariton.

The Lady Bulldogs topped T.R. Miller's Lady Tigers in three games. The match began with the Lady Tigers winning the first game by

a score of 25-16.

Andalusia rallied to win the second game by a score of 25-7 to send the match to a third and deciding game.

The Lady Bulldogs won the third game 15-9 to earn a victory.

The Lady Bulldogs only needed two games to win the final match of the day. The Lady Bulldogs faced Ariton in the final match of the day.

The Lady Bulldogs won the first game of the match 25-17.

The second game of the match went back and forth with the Lady Bulldogs pulling away at the end for a 25-19 win.

Ariton defeated the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers in three games. Ariton won the first game of the match 25-22. T.R. Miller won the second game 25-20 to force a third and deciding game.

Ariton won the third game 15-13 to clinch the match.

In other action, the Andalusia Middle School team earned a big win against Brewton Middle School.

The Lady Bulldogs from AMS whipped the Lady Tigers 25-1 in the first game of the match with Morgen Battey serving for 17 consecutive points.

The Lady Tigers played better in the second game, but Andalusia won 25-16 to win the match.

The Andalusia junior varsity did not do as well against their counterparts from Brewton falling to the T.R. Miller JV Lady Tigers by a final score of 22-25, 25-12, 12-15.

Andalusia returns to the court on Saturday when the Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to compete in the Elba Tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs are also scheduled to be on the road Monday. Andalusia is slated to play at Kinston on Monday. Andalusia plays at Samson next Thursday.

The next home match is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 16 at 4 p.m. against Laurel Hill. It is the regular-season final\u00E9 for the Lady Bulldogs.
