The next generation of the Jackson family is numerous

To complete the early lineage of the Cornelius Jackson, Sr. family, the generation of his great grandchildren will be outlined in this column. He and Lucendia had many descendants who were born and reared in the Jackson Town community.

The children of John J.'s son, Stephen, and Zelphia (Nelson) Jackson, included the following: Ida, b. 1884, left home in 1898; Daniel Dozier, b. 1885, d. 1976, m. Annal Adams; Noah Sampson, b. 1888, d. 1963, m. Ina Woodham; Quille, b. 1890, m. Tammie Owens; Johnie Aris, b. 1892, m. Sula Thomas; Carlie, b. 1894, d. 1902; Burry Buster, b. 1896, m. Mattie ?; Rosie Elizabeth, b. 1898, m. Thomas Hillard Courtney; Marion Ray, b. 1900, d. 1995, m. Gladys Herring; Jessie Esther, b. 1903, m. John T. Morgan; Walter Leonard, b.& d. 1904; and Birdie Grimes, b. 1906, m. Grady Grimes.

John J.'s son, Joseph, and his second wife, Melissa, had a daughter whom they named Melissa, and she was married to Rufus Gay. Joseph and his third wife, Jane, reared the following children: John, m. (1) Lokey Calhoun (2) Annie Peacock; Jasper "Pedio," m. (1) Lucile Wilkinson (2) Annie ?; Jesse "Doc," b. 1884, d. 1916, m. (1) Martha Sorrells (2) ? Moore (3) Lizza Bennett; Monroe, b. 1888, m. Annie ?; Arnie, b. 1892, m. Susie Lindsey; Tensia, b. 1897, m. (1) Joe Hardin (2) Bud Youn; Krxie, b. 1901; Ester, b. 1915, m. Viola Samson; Fletcher, b. 1916; and Amma, b. 1917, m. (1) Sheldon Williams (2) ? Miller.

John J.'s son, Andrew, and his wife, Lizzie, had the following children: Walter, b. 1888; Minnie Lee, b. 1891; Andrew Jr., b. 1896, Lena, b. 1898; Rosa, b. 1903; and Viola, b. 1905, d. 1994.

John J.'s son, Jim, and Talatha, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Aldridge, reared the following children: Jesse Monroe, b. 1886, m. Mary Jane Carnley; Henry H., b. 1893; General J., b. 1895; Wiley, b. 1898, m. Alta ?; Lillie, b. 1906; and Mary M. "Maggie," b. 1908.

The oldest son of Duncan, Thomas John, and his wife, Sally, reared the following children: Arlena "Beaner," b. 1869, m. Dunkin J. Daniel "Jimmy" Jackson; John "Little John" Roman, b. 1871, d. 1949, m. 1895 Susan "Susie" Jackson; William "Willie," b. 1872, d. 1958, m. 1895 Luesendy Jackson; Lydia Martha Laura, b. 1875, d. 1938 M. Zebulon P. George; Mollie, b. 1878, d. 1907, m. (1) ? Diamond (2) 1898 William Isaac Alexander "Billy" Jackson; Alexander Arswald "Ozzie," b. 1879, d. 1945, m. (1) 1902 Elizabeth Pickron (2) 1905 Sally Jackson Jordan; Eddie, b. 1883, m. Mattie Crosby; Docie "Rosia," b. 1888, d. 1963, m. 1902 Mose Pickron.

Thomas John, a farmer, and his second wife, Mittie, had the following two children: Estelle, b. 1910, m. (1) ? Jackson (2) 1924 George Hall (3) 1940 George Harrison; and Rosie Mae, b. 1914, d. 1993, m. 1908 Johnnie W. Howard.

Carroll; Lonie "Mandy," b. 1889, m. Dan Anderson, Jr.; Carlie Jane, b. 1892, d. 1972, m. (1) 1909 James Irvin Fenley Harrison (2) 1957 Z.M. Landford; Charlie A., b. 1896, d. 1964, m. (1) Etta Fedder Hobbs (2) Myrtie Andrews; George Washington, b. 1898, m. (1) Veria Maddox (2) Ruby Booker (3) Allene Bradley (4) Thelma Brake; and Pearley, b. ca 1905, m. (1) Dozier Peterson (2) Frank Garrett.

Duncan's son, Alexander, and Sally reared the following children: Duncan James, b. 1882, d. 1943, m. Tiny Martha Elmore; Alexander "Bush," b. 1884, d. 1958, m. (1) 1883 Eliza E. "Lizzie" Cantaline (2) Epsie Norris; Adline F. "Addie," b. 1886, d. 1963, m. 1901 Leroy R. Elmore; Daniel Robert, b. 1892, d. 1982, m. 1910 Mary Francis Merritt; and Ellafare M., b. 1899.

Duncan's daughter, Randy, and husband, John Smith, had three children: Durwoody Mac, b. 1882; Betty, b. 1885, d. 1915, m. 1907 Cleveland D. Cawthon; and John B., b. 1890, m. 1910 Bertha Jackson.

Duncan's son, Big John, and Martha had the following children: Harvey, b. 1889, d. 1950, m. Lonie Zell Lawrence; William Hardy, b. 1891, d. 1965, m. Donie Jackson; Lula, b. 1894, d. 1975, m. Cleveland D. Cawthon; Zula, b. 1896, d. 1977, m. William Benjamin Aplin; Comer, b. 1899, d. 1952, m. Nancy Jackson Lawrence; Homer, b. 1902, d. 1976, m. Esther Maddox; Travis, b. 1904, d. 1905; Loman, b. 1906, d. 1998, m. Mamie Estelle Turbeville; and Zunie, b. 1908, d. 1994, m. (1) Carl Aplin (2) Curtis Kirtland.

Duncan's son, James, and his second wife, Alice, reared the following children: Polly, b. 1896, d. 1984, m. James McCarty; Oscar, b. 1897, d. 1958, m. Ola S. Hawthorne; Bertha, b. 1899, d. 1952, m. John B. Smith; Florence J., b. 1899, d. 1979, m. William Henry Merritt, Jr.; James Franklin "Jim Boy," b. 1902, d. 1977, m. Annie Lou Coon; and Louise, b. 1912, d. 1983, m. Buck Thompson.

Mary J.'s son, Dunkin "Jimmy," and his wife, Arlena, had the following children: Ida May, b. 1882, m. John W. Carroll; William Wiley, b. ca 1886, d. 1969, m. Mertie Bradley; Henry Monroe, b. 1887, d. 1952, m. Louise Carroll; Lela Lula, b. 1890, d. 1975, m. (1) Henry Scroggins (2) Robert Ellis Missildine; Quinelle, b. 1899; Quilly, b. 1901, d. 1959, m. (1) Floria Bass (2) Martha Coon; Ollie, b. 1906; and Lillie B., b. 1910, m. Walter Cooper.

Mary J.'s son, William Isaac, had three children by his first wife, Mollie: Christopher Columbus, b. 1900, d. 1964, m. Bessie Mae Jackson; Curtis Johner, b. 1902, d. 1996, m. Lillie Jane Jackson; and Infant, b.&d. 1907. William I. and his second wife, Emona, had the following children: Otis Bartholomew "Bunk," b. 1899, m. Pasquito Castro; William Broughton "Judge," b. 1915, m. Leona Noles; Mary Ethel Maranda, b. 1917, m. Ray Catherwood; Cynthia Rosetta, b. 1923, m. Ben Bane; Evelyn Odessa, b. 1925, m. James Devon Long; and Theodore Eugene "Jabo," b. 1932.

Martha A. and Rob Morgan's daughter, Lillie, and Bert Hall had a daughter, Alberta, who married ? Martin.

Cornelius Jr.'s daughter, Luesendy, and Jim Jordan had two children: Sally, b. 1889, d. 1969, m. Alexander Arswald Jackson; and Clem, b. 1893, m. Ida McClung. Luesendy and her second husband, William Jackson, had the following children: Millie Welch, b. 1899, d. 1977, m. (1) Lit Welch (2) Will Harrison; Donie, b. 1897, d. 1973, m. William Hardy Jackson; Agneu G., b. 1900, d. 1991, m. Bama Caraway; and Lydia, b. 1905, d. 1992, m. (1) Louis Ward (2) Francis Marlin Summerlin.

Cornelius Jr.'s daughter, Susan, and John "Little John" Jackson had the following children: Hubbard Brock, b. 1897; Della, b. 1897, d. 1901; Lewis, b. 1901, d. 1918; Richard, b. 1904, d. 1908; Stella, b. 1905, m. (1) Ray Thorn (2) Danny Asberry; Alice May, b. 1907, b. 1982, m. Joseph Edward "Dick" Aplin; Mack Daniel, b. 1911, d. 1941, m. Edith Richardson; Julia, b. 1915, m. Etha Edgar Earnest; and Frank, b. 1917, d. 1919.
