William Westfall

William Westfall, 57, of Andalusia, died Friday, September 26, 2003 in a Dothan hospital.

A memorial service was held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2003 at New Song Community Church on Antioch Road with Rev. Robert Canant officiating. Special music was provided by Judy Harwell. There was a special reading by brother-in-law, Mike Kloeckner.

Survivors include his wife, Julie Westfall of Andalusia; daughters, Elizabeth Westfall and Krystal Westfall of Andalusia; half-sister, Betty Edgett of Michigan; and two grandchildren.

Keahey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Edward A. Hendrix

Services for Edward A. Hendrix, 46, of Fairmont, Minn. will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2003 at Lakeview Funeral Home with Rev. David Ekbald officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont with full military honors by the Lee C. Prentice American legion Post 36 and the Martin County V.F.W. Post 1222.

Mr. Hendrix died Thursday, September 25, 2003 at his home in Fairmont. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at Lakeview Funeral Home.

Edward Amos Hendrix was born on February 17, 1957 in Red Level, the son of Amos and Maple (Edison) Hendrix. In 1975, Ed joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served until his honorable discharge in 1980. After his discharge he lived in Maryland then in Texas. He met Casey Johlgren in Maryland in 1982 and they were married on June 24, 1989 and Ed worked in general maintenance at Fairmont Foods. He was a member of the Rose Lake Golf Club in Fairmont.

He is survived by his wife, Casey Hendrix of Fairmont; three daughters, Daisy Hendrix of Fairmont; Heidi (Hesser) Endres and her husband, Tom, of Fairmont; Liz (Hesser) Shumski and fiance, Tracy Weber of Blue Earth, Minn.; favorite dog, Scrappy; three grandchildren, Felisha, Hannah, Kendra, all of Blue Earth; one brother, Ronald Hendrix and wife, Ann; two sisters, Linda Gail Burt and her husband, Jim of Georgia, Trish Harris and her husband Floyd of Alabama, mother-in-law, Betty Johlgren of West St. Paul; aunt, Daisy Martin of Red Level; three sisters-in-law, Mary Moore and her significant other, John of the Twin Cities, Joan Stern and husband, Tim of Wis., Samantha Kanne and husband, Greg of Wis.; other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ed is also preceded in death by one brother, Edgar.

J.C. Ivey Jr.

J.C. Ivey Jr., 67, of Red Level, died Saturday, September 27, 2003 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at Keahey Funeral Home of Andalusia.

Survivors include his wife, Sharlene Ivey of Red Level; sons, Ronald Jesse Ivey of Greenville and Darren Scott Ivey of Red Level; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cleveland Burks Ivey of Mobile, Robert Ray and Carolyn Ivey of Red Level, Billy Joe and Linda Ivey of Hayneville, Charles Phillip and Mary Ivey of Ark., Farrell and Linda Ivey of Pratville; sisters Marjorie Carnley of Andalusia and Sarah Grice of Andalusia; granddaughter, Beverly Diane Ivey; mother-in-law, Elsie Mae Cloud of Henderson, Nev.; sisters-in-law, Glenna Sue Summer of Henderson, Georgia Ann Riddle of Henderson.

Solomon Tisdale

Solomon Tisdale, 96, of Andalusia died Sunday, September 28, 2003 in an Andalusia hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2003, from Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Faircloth officiating and burial in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Foreman Funeral Home.

Survivors include his son Dr. John Tisdale of Andalusia; his grandchildren, John Tisdale of Andalusia, Dr. George Tisdale of Birmingham and Dr. Deborah R. Tisdale of Thorsby and six great-grandchildren.

Elsie Tillery Rabren

Elsie Tillery Rabren, 82, of Brooklyn, died Saturday, September 27, 2003 in the Brewton hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2003 from Foreman Funeral Home chapel with burial in Adellum Cemetery with Rev. Jack Williamson officiating. Visitation will be at 12:30 Tuesday at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by three sons, John Harry (Jackie) Rabren of Sumter, S.C., Alvin (Carol) Rabren of Robertsdale, Gene Rabren of Brooklyn; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; her sisters, Eleanor T. Cary of Brooklyn, Dorothy T. Womack of Milton, Fla.; one brother, James Tillery of Lebanon, Penn.; ten nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rabren was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Tillery of Brooklyn and her husband M.Q. Rabren. She was a member of Brooklyn Baptist Church and Brooklyn Order of the Eastern Star.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
