Red Level shuts out Samson, 28-0

Red Level had more than three times as many yards on offense as the Samson Tigers on Friday and it showed in the final score.

Red Level outgained the Samson Tigers 408 to 121 and outscored the homestanding club 28-0.

The Red Level Tigers remained undefeated on the season with a 28-0 shut out win against Samson in Samson.

Larry Hudson started the Tigers off with a 30-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He added a PAT for a 7-0 lead.

Hudson was just getting warmed up.

The Red Level athlete added a 70-yard touchdown run later in the first quarter for a 13-0 lead. His PAT attempt was blocked.

In the second quarter, Evan Kervin showed the Samson fans what he could do with a 68-yard touchdown run. The Red Level Tigers went for two and got it on a pass play from Russell Rigdon to Hudson for a 21-0 lead.

The score was 21-0 in favor of Red level at the halftime intermission.

In the second half, Red Level added just one more score for a 28-0 win. Kervin scored the final touchdown on a short run. Hudson had a big run in the drive for Red Level.

Hudson ended the game with nine carries for 120 yards and two touchdowns. he booted three PATs in the win and scored on a two-point conversion.He was also the leading tackler for the Tigers with a total of 11 (six solo and five assists).

Kervin also ran the ball well in the win. He had 120 yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries. Kervin was the leading receiver with one catch for 57 yards.

Jermaine Jackson had two catches for 26 yards. Dusty Lee had one catch for 25 yards in the win.

Rigdon was 3-of-5 passing for 51 yards with one interception. Steve Rabren also played at the quarterback position and was 1-of-4 passing for 57 yards.

Red Level will be back at home for the first time since the season opener against Florala when the Pleasant Home Eagles visit town. Kickoff is tentatively set for 7 p.m.

Pleasant Home fell to 1-3 on Friday via a 7-0 loss to the Cottonwood Bears.
