Undefeated Tigers face Panthers

The undefeated Red Level Tigers face the winless Wicksburg Panthers on Friday in a region game. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in Midland City.

While the Tigers boast the better record, Red Level Head Coach Tim Grimes said this game is not won or lost on paper.

"They look a lot better on film than their record indicates," Grimes said. "They've had a chance to win every ballgame they've played this season."

Grimes said the Panthers are a big and strong team.

They also have a special player in a tailback named Dawkins.

"He has a 42-inch vertical leap," Grimes said. "He is 5-foot-5 and they say he can dunk with both hands."

Dawkins is also pretty good in football.

"He is dangerous anytime he touches the ball," Grimes said.

Grimes hopes his team will be the one getting a two-handed jam Friday night, but it won't be easy.

"We're going to try and hang onto the ball," Grimes said. "We definitely have some things we have to work on.

"We need to hold our blocks a little longer and we have to catch it before we can run with it," he added. "We have had a problem with that here lately."
