AMS Bulldogs top Brewton in finale

It close for a quarter.

The Andalusia Middle School Bulldogs held a 14-6 advantage against Brewton Middle School's Tigers at the end of the first quarter before exploding for 26

points and a 40-12 win.

The victory gave the AMS Bulldogs a perfect season with an undefeated record. It marks the first time for an AMS football squad to go undefeated since the 1980s when the team was coached by Richard Robertson.

Martin Watson gave the Bulldogs an early lead on a 62-yard touchdown run. The two-point try was no good, but AMS was on top 6-0.

Brewton tied the score at 6-6 late in the first quarter.

The Bulldogs went on top for good with 1:05 left in the first quarter when Michael Berry scored on a 65-yard run. Watson added a two-point conversion for a 14-6 lead.

Watson scored a touchdown in the second quarter and Berry added a two-point conversion for a 22-6 lead.

Brewton managed to score before the half to make the score 22-12.

Berry scored again in the third quarter on a 54-yard run to give the Bulldogs a 28-12 lead as rain began to fall.

Jamie Busch added a touchdown on a 36-yard interception return for a 34-12 lead late in the third quarter.

Watson scored on a 23-yard run for a 40-12 lead with 3:57 left in the game.
