Welcome home!

As Andalusia High School's Homecoming festivities come to a climax today, we want to take this opportunity to welcome each and every alumni and supporter back to Andalusia for this grand time.

Homecoming in Andalusia has always been a special time.

From the decorative floats that drift through downtown to the assembly at AHS this morning, Homecoming in Andalusia is second to none.

There aren't many places where high schools still celebrate homecoming events in such grand style. Many schools don't even have homecoming celebrations.

We're fortunate to be able to still maintain our tradition of getting together and celebrating the good times that coincide with high school.

For many people, this will be their first time returning to AHS since their graduation in more than 10, 20 or 30 years. A lot has changed. New buildings are in place, the "new gym" is now the "old gym" with a "new gym" sitting where the "old gym" once did.

For some, it will be the first time they've seen old classmates in as many years. Tears will be shed, laughs will be shared and yes, even a few old flames might be rekindled.

Homecoming truly is a special time in Andalusia. After tonight's big game, alumni will reunite for parties and receptions, prayer and fellowship.

After that, each will go his or her own way; returning to the hustle and bustle of their daily lives.

But for a brief moment, they are able to relive the memories of high school as a class.

We want to take this opportunity to say we share in your memories. Either from AHS or another high school, we look back with fondness at our time and high school, and encourage students to remember the good times now.

We'll see you downtown at the parade and at the game tonight, and welcome home.
