Claude Julian Palmer

Claude Julian Palmer 71, of Andalusia died Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2003 at Adellum Baptist Church.

The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2003 at Keahey Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Adellum Baptist Church.

Survivor include two sons, Danny Palmer of Hope Hull and Darrell Savage of Andalusia; grandchildren, Julian Shawn Savage, Olivia Savage and Priscilla Walker; and nieces and nephews, Jeff Palmer, Tammy Palmer, Steve Palmer, Greg Palmer, Renee Bulard, and Mellisia Tobias.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Savage; and a daughter, Susan Palmer.

Wilson Friske &uot;Sandy&uot; Sanborn

Wilson Friske &uot;Sandy&uot; Sanborn, 92, of Andalusia died Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at his residence. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2003 at Foreman Funeral Home with Brother Donald Hall and Brother Charles Morris officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Fla.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Sanborn of Andalusia; two daughters, Bonnie Ryan of Andalusia, Deborah Hicks of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Melissa Hicks of Jacksonville, Teresa Rawland of Hinesville, Ga., Chad Ryan of Navarre Beach, Fla., Kevin Ryan of Saint Petersburg; five step-children, 14, step-grandchildren.

He started his career with Sherwin-Williams Paint Company as a salesman in 1933. In 1937, he went to work with Household Finance Corporation till he entered the U.S. Navy in 1942 until 1947. After military service he served as a chief of police of Gulfport, Fla. Later he served as the Clerk of Pinellas County Juvenile Court in St. Petersburg. In 1963, Mr. Sanborn retired from the L & H Corporation where he was a property manager. He was a member of many charitable and professional organizations including the Lions Club, Shriner’s Military Order of World Wars, American Legion, Masons, Scottish Rite Bodies, and the International Association of Chief’s of Police. Mr. Sanborn attended Sweetwater Baptist Church.

Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. prior to services at Foreman Funeral Home.

Rosa M. Smithart

Rosa M. Smithart, of Red Level, died Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2003 at Buck Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Sells officiating. Burial will follow in Buck Creek Church Cemetery.

Survivors include her son, Tommy Smithart of Red Level; her daughter, Linda (Joe) Pittman of Andalusia; grandchildren, Keith Pittman, Heather (Heath) Huckabaa; great-grandchild, Peyton Huckabaa; one brother, Fred Smelley of Decatur.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the Buck Creek Cemetery Fund.

Julia Mae Wise Maddox

Julia Mae Wise Maddox, 89, formerly of Andalusia and River Falls died Wednesday, November 5, 2003 in Alabaster.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Novmeber 7, 2003 at the Red Oak Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, November 6, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to services.

Survivors include her son, Dempsey Truett (Jean) Maddox of Clanton; grandchildren, Lynn (Wendell) Purvis, Steven Maddox, David (Sondra) Maddox, Chuck (Kim) Maddox, Beverly (Tim) Wyatt; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Johnson of Andalusia.

Lee Ora Windham Stallings

Lee Ora Windham Stallings, 82, of Andalusia died Wednesday, November 5, 2003 in an Andalusia nursing home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2003 at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, November 6, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

Survivors include her son, Jimmie Franklin (Lynn) Stallings of Pensacola; grandchildren, Jeff (Kelley) Stallings of Pensacola, Sonja (Keith) Hines of Andalusia; seven great-grandchildren, Mallory Stallings, Amy Hines, Tom Hines, Jason Hines, Barrett Hines, Nate Harrelson, and Tyler Harrelson; two step-grandchildren, Michael Stewart (Stephanie) Harrelson, Jr. and Jimmy D. (Melanie) Harrelson; a sister, Quinell Biggs of Andalusia and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Keith Hines, Tom Hines, Jeffrey Martin, Steve Frazier, Jimmy Harrelson, and Harlos Leach.
