Not feeling sorry for Judge Myron Thompson

Dear Editor:

Myron Thompson should never have been appointed to the Federal bench. That post should have gone to Fred Gray, Sr.

Myron and the Judges in the 11th Circuit who upheld his decision know all about contempt of court. Have they now placed themselves in contempt of the Court of the Final Judge of this universe?

I think so. I suppose I should feel sorry for them.

But I don't.

'Thanks' for swift response

Dear Editor:

On the night of Nov. 4, we had a robbery at our home. Even with security lights outside and lights in inside, the intruder still was brave enough to rob us while we slept.

Like most people, we just could not believe that E-911 would work like we had been told, but believe you me, it does work. When the call was placed, they knew right away our location and the sheriff's deputies arrived within five minutes.

Since we live out in the county, (approximately three miles from town) we also had wondered how long it would take deputies to get to us. Now we know two things -- E-911 works well and the deputies come fast.

We are writing this letter to say "Thank you" to E-911 and the Sheriff's Department, especially to the deputies and investigators who worked so diligently on this case.

The rapid response and the handling of this case resulted in a quick arrest. Thanks for a job well done.
